Phil Emma has stepped into the role of President of Merrimack County Savings Bank. Phil succeeds Paul Rizzi, who retired after almost 20 years of service.
Since joining the Merrimack in 2000, Phil has held a number of key leadership roles and was instrumental in the alliance of the Merrimack and Meredith Village Savings Bank in 2013. In addition to his new duties as President, Phil will continue to serve as Executive Vice President of New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp and President of MillRiver Wealth Management.
Phil is only the tenth person to serve as President since the Merrimack was founded nearly 150 years ago. He continues our proud tradition of “leadership from within,” as all of our past presidents have been employees who already had a deep knowledge and understanding of the bank, our customers and the communities we serve.
Please join us in extending warm congratulations to Phil, and read his message to customers and friends.

Peggy and David Gilmour Medical Respite Center
We’re proud to show our support for Harbor Homes, Inc. of Nashua by contributing $15,000 toward the construction of the Peggy and David Gilmour Medical Respite Center. This new facility will be the state’s first and only medical respite program providing critical medical care, housing and supportive services to the growing homeless and substance-addicted population of Nashua and southern New Hampshire.
“Oftentimes, our homeless neighbors are discharged from hospitals without a place to stay while they recover from injuries, surgery or illness,” said James Gallagher, Senior Vice President at Merrimack County Savings Bank. “Medical respite such as the kind that will be offered at the Peggy and David Gilmour Medical Respite Center bridges the gap between medical care received in a hospital and the more restricted services typical of shelters.”
