Home prices are slowly beginning to rise in most communities, but you don’t have to wait for the housing market to heat up to increase the value of your home. Despite market fluctuations, basic projects can make your house more marketableand more livable. The key is to prioritize renovations based on what is affordable and most practical for you.
Here are a few tips and guidelines to help get you started, courtesy of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of New Hampshire.
Start with the bathroom.
Small, careful improvements in your kitchen can make a big difference.
Make the most out of rarely used rooms.
Owning a home is great way to increase financial security because money that once went to someone else for rent now flows back to you in the form of equity in your home. After a few years of maintaining your property, the accumulated equity can be applied to a loan or down payment on your next house.

“We were initially associated with a large regional bank. Once in Concord, we had the opportunity to meet several members of Merrimack County Savings Bank and were impressed with their approachprofessional but not pushy. Many of our fellow retailers also mentioned that they were very happy with their relationship with The Merrimack. From the first day we met, we have been delighted with the level of customer service and responsiveness that we receive. It is also rewarding to support a local bank that gives back so generously to the community.”
