Warning: Fraudulent Phone Calls Regarding Debit Cards

Please be advised that we have received several reports of customers and area residents receiving fraudulent automated calls and voicemails claiming that there is a problem with their debit card or that their debit card has been deactivated. The call recipient is asked to press 0 or 1 to continue and then to enter personal information such as their debit card or account number so that the issue can be resolved.

These fraudulent calls are not being made by Merrimack County Savings Bank nor any other legitimate financial institution or debit card processor. Please do not provide account or debit card information in response to any unsolicited phone calls, text messages or emails; doing so will put your account at risk for fraud.

Merrimack County Savings Bank may contact you from time to time to confirm high risk or unusual activity made using your debit card or account, but we do not place unsolicited calls requesting personal information and we do not place any automated calls or leave automated voice messages.

If you receive a suspicious call, text message or email, please do not respond by entering any personal information. If you have provided your personal information in response to a suspicious call, text message or email, please notify us immediately so that we can assist you with protecting your account and preventing identity theft. If you should notice any fraudulent transactions on your Merrimack24 debit card outside normal banking hours, please consider restricting your own debit card by calling our processing center at 1-866-546-8273.
