Concord, NH – March 24, 2015 – Merrimack County Savings Bank Foundation recently granted $2,500 to Pittsfield Youth Workshop in Pittsfield, NH. The grant will assist in the expansion of their high school programming. This is one of 19 awards presented by the Foundation to not-for-profit organizations, according to Paul Rizzi, President and CEO of Merrimack County Savings Bank.
“We are pleased to support Pittsfield Youth Workshop and stand behind their mission to empower the young people of Pittsfield and surrounding towns” said Rizzi. “We are grateful for The Merrimack’s belief in us and the youth our organization caters to,” said Zachary Powers, Executive Director of Pittsfield Youth Workshop. Powers continued, “This funding is designated to expand programming for high school students, providing even more opportunities for positive and healthy activities that our teens can engage in.”
Pittsfield Youth Workshop is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization founded in 1986 by a group of local citizens, offering a variety of programs, activities and trips for the youth population of Suncook Valley in grades 6 through 12. The mission of Pittsfield Youth Workshop is to empower the youth population by helping them develop useful skills, self-esteem and meaningful friendships by involving them in activities that are interesting, challenging and healthy for self-discovery. This approach includes several distinct programs, namely, Drop-in and Homework Club, Trips and Excursions, Youth Mentoring, Alcohol and Drug Prevention, Programs with Adults, Community Service, Leadership and Music and Arts Appreciation.
