Merrimack County Savings Bank Grants $2,000 to Best Buddies New Hampshire

Concord, NH – February 12, 2015 – Merrimack County Savings Bank Foundation recently granted $2,000 to Best Buddies New Hampshire. The grant will assist in the program’s expansion to middle schools, high schools and colleges across the state. This is one of 19 awards presented by the Foundation to not-for-profit organizations, according to Paul Rizzi, Merrimack CEO and President.

“We’re delighted to support the growing efforts of Best Buddies New Hampshire and applaud their intention to expand in more schools across the state” said Paul Rizzi, President and CEO of Merrimack County Savings Bank. “We are grateful for the support of Merrimack County Savings Bank,” said Sarra Dennehy, State Director of Best Buddies New Hampshire. Dennehy continued, “This funding will contribute to our ever-growing outreach statewide, which we are confident will lead to more friendships, employment and empowerment not only for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, but for those they befriend as well.”

Best Buddies was founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Best Buddies New Hampshire has presence at the high school and college level, including chapters in Dartmouth College, University of New Hampshire and Phillips Academy Exeter.
