Paul C. Rizzi, Jr. Named Chief Executive Officer Effective September 2010

Concord, NH – April 19, 2010 – Merrimack County Savings Bank today announced that the Board of Directors has promoted current President and Chief Operating Officer, Paul C. Rizzi, Jr., to President and Chief Executive Officer. The appointment will take effect in September, 2010 upon the retirement of Ronald A. Wilbur, current Chairman of the Board and CEO. Mr. Rizzi has over 40 years of banking experience and has been an executive officer of Merrimack County Savings Bank since 1996.

“Over the years, Paul has played a significant role in the bank’s strategic planning and policy formation as well as its expansion into new business lines and markets,” commented Ronald A. Wilbur, Chairman of the Board and CEO. “While there is no doubt he will bring fresh ideas to this position, the Board is delighted with the selection and confident that he embraces the culture and mission which have been an integral part of the bank’s long history and success.”

Ronald Wilbur has served in leadership roles with Merrimack County Saving Bank for 20 years, as President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board. He will continue as a member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Rizzi has previously served at the Bank of New Hampshire, Indian Head Bank, New Hampshire Savings Bank and Bank of Boston. He currently volunteers with the United Way of Merrimack County, serving as chair of the Economic Self-Sufficiency Community Review Team. Additionally, he is a member of the Bow Rotary Club and serves on the Board of Directors of the Concord Family YMCA as chair of the Finance Committee. He was recently named Program Volunteer of the Year by the YMCA. Mr. Rizzi is an alumnus of Leadership Greater Concord and a former board member of the Concord Boys & Girls Club, Community Bridges and the United Way of Merrimack County.

Mr. Rizzi received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New Hampshire Whittemore School of Business & Economics. He resides in Bow with his wife Cathy and sons Nicholas, Alex and Phillip.
