Community Involvement

The Merrimack has a long tradition of community support as reflected by its contributions of funds and volunteer hours to countless worthy causes. Additionally, The Merrimack funded the Merrimack County Savings Bank Foundation in 1997 for grant-based contributions.

While not focused on a particular category, we are mindful of the purpose of the receiving organization and its contribution to the quality of life in the communities that we serve. Our efforts may support children and families, health and wellbeing, local economic development, education, the arts, financial literacy, personal economics and affordable housing. We are a long-time supporter of the United Way as a pacesetter, provider of volunteers and leadership, and by our encouragement of a strong base of employee support.

Paid volunteer time allows our staff the ability to prepare and serve food at local food kitchens, help pack food baskets all year round, provide classroom support on financial education topics, serve on boards and committees of many not-for-profit organizations, support the Salvation Army during the holidays, and participate in many other activities that contribute to our community.

Sponsorship requests are reviewed at least monthly and may be sent to the attention of Diana Johnson. Please note that the bank is required to have a W-9 form on file before any sponsorship payments are made.

Other types of requests for support may be sent to the attention of Christine Scheiner. Our address is 89 North Main St., Concord, NH 03301.

Details about applying for Foundation grants are provided in the section on the Merrimack County Savings Bank Foundation.
